There is nothing I love more than seeing my clients excel and succeed at whatever their goals are. I welcome all fitness levels from couch potato to elite athletes to join me in my classes or one on one. I am knowledgeable in many modifications for most types of injury. Being born and raised Alaskan I have a love for all things outdoors especially backcountry downhill skiing and fly fishing. As an athlete growing up, volleyball and track were my main sports. I still very much enjoy playing volleyball and I coach mid school club volleyball. As an athlete fitness has always been a focus but in the last few years it has become a passion.
Although I have a degree Mechanical Engineering my passion is for fitness and overall health for myself and my clients. For many years I struggled with my own body image. Through educating myself on fitness and nutrition I have been able to overcome those insecurities. Although it is a constant battle to maintain a healthy body imagine mindset it is something that can be achieved. As a coach I help men and women find confidence within themselves while reaching their fitness potential. I like to keep workouts for myself and my clients challenging but fun! My strategy for training is primarily based around free weights and full body movement.
I was never a gym person until I found Alaska Functional Fitness. I started my journey in my home gym, which I worked out in for years! While home gyms are a great way to start a journey and stay in shape, the gym has helped me to be able to reach new heights I didn’t know I was capable of. Starting at a gym can be intimidating but as a coach I want to help make that transition easier and more comfortable. My goal is to not only help clients get in shape but also help them keep fitness as a lifestyle for the long term.
